Having been born into a poor family, my youthful mindset of ‘lack’ has turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

I was a fiery child and had a fierce competitive nature to do whatever it takes.

We were fortunate to have learned a ‘hard work’ ethic.

Since we did not have enough money for me to get a bicycle, I learned of a contest being held by a potato chip supplier and, with fierce determination, saved up more than 5 times the number of bags than any of the other kids and I won my first bicycle.

Upon entering high school I engaged in sports and I tasted the thrill of victory, winning many championships.

Having only raw determination and little experience, I ventured off into the world, going through many jobs as a laborer and then, with limited trade skills, opened up a construction company with two partners.

This resulted in both huge success at first and then huge loss with the crash of the market.

I then started to learn about marketing and opened a business in Liquidations.

Travel time took its toll so I bought a farm (certified organic) and worked it for six years.

It was at this point in my life when I realized that I was working myself to death on the ‘time for money’ treadmill.

I began training and then teaching in martial arts ( tai chi + lok hup ) to learn how to focus and stay calm.

That was the beginning of an incredible new journey where I realized investing in myself was critical to change and growth.

When you discover personal growth it changes your perspective.

A friend then introduced me to a residual income business, and that was a revelation.

Since then, and that was fourteen years ago, I have learned how to live well by focusing entirely on creating and developing residual income businesses.

Now it is fun, having the luxury of not getting up in the morning with the ‘job hounds’.

Taking multiple vacations a year is a blast!

I have been fortunate to win 6 vacations in the last few years.

This journey keeps leading me to new, wonderful people and opportunity.

I joined a team of people that was putting together a book entitled, “Manifest Success, Vol. 2: Motivation, Momentum and Miracles”.

Although I’m not a writer, I learned once again that if you step out of your comfort zone you will experience growth and have fun.

It was thrilling to become  a published author and especially being published in a book with New York Times bestseller Peggy McColl.

One of the keys to success is being a part of a team where everybody wins.

You get to share the journey, the process and the rewards.

I’ve realized that you can turn your life around simply by making new choices and decisions, and when you meet like minded people, they too want to succeed and share their knowledge with others.

Take a look around my blog and discover some of the great tips, tools and resources that have helped me succeed on my journey.
