Failure Leads To Success

The path to success is laden with obstacles

Are you struggling to be a successful entrepreneur?

Have you failed over and over again?

Congratulations on your failures.

I have had many great successes in my 30+ year business journey.

I have also had some great failures.

I remember the first few failures hit me very hard until I talked to a mentor of mine.

He advised me that failure leads to success.

He also told me that “life is not about what happens, but how you deal with what happens.”

When I changed the way I looked at it, it was a real life change for me.

Instead of looking at what I didn’t achieve, I looked at what I learned.

Failure leads to success if you learn from it.

John Maxwell, one of the greatest business coaches in the world has a book called, “Sometimes You Win, Sometimes You Learn.”

Napoleon Hill, author of “Think and Grow Rich” said that there is a seed of opportunity in every adversity.

Do you have a commitment to success?

Lots of people say they are committed to achieve success but yet so few ever reach the top.

Commitment to success is your word and the only power you have in life is your word.

No one likes failing and no likes rejection but it is part of the path to achieve success.

Failure leads to success because it teaches you life lessons and it can make you stronger.

Think about it for a second.

There is always a ratio in the numbers where x number of people say yes and x number of people say no.

Failure Leads To Success

Failure Leads To Success

In almost any business venture more people will say no.

That means the more successful you are the more failure you have encountered.

A commitment to success means never giving up because “winners never quit and quitters never win.”

One of the great books I have read, “Breaking The Rules” by Kurt Wright taught me to reframe the questions I ask myself.

For example, when we make a mistake, a common first reaction is to say to ourselves, “What’s wrong with me?”

That book taught me to ask a new question,”What more can I do right?”

It’s called perspective and a new question gives you a new perspective.

I want to give credit for the above quote to Darren Hardy who is the publisher of Success Magazine.

The key to success is…

If you ask 100 entrepreneurs what the key to success is you will hear things like, integrity, dedication, persistence, hard work, consistency and attitude.

So what is the most important key to success that you need to possess?

A lot of personal development coaches will tell you that it is attitude.

As Larry Winget, the personal development/business coach put it, attitude is only one thing.

You need to develop the entire formula.

It’s kind of like baking a cake.

If you leave out one ingredient from your success cake you will not get the best results.

If there was one key that would override all others it is mindset.

The mindset you have and develop is the most important asset you will need.

You are going to experience failures along the road to success and lots of obstacles.

The component that will help you get over it is mindset.

Mindset is actually a lot of the individual components combined that builds you from within because “Success is an inside job.”

The best R.O.I. (return on investment) is mindset development, which gives you an infinite return.

The Most Important Part Of How To Be Successful

Success quotes for you to read and follow

Success quotes are a great way to push your reset button when your day is not going exactly as planned.

Life happens, to everyone.

Read some of these out loud and you will experience a shift in your mindset.

  1. “If you set your goals ridiculously high and it’s a failure, you will fail above everyone else’s success.” James Cameron
  2. “Success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it.” Henry David Thoreau
  3. “Things work out best for those who make the best of how things work out.”John Wooden
  4. “Entrepreneurs average 3.8 failures before final success. What sets the successful ones apart is their amazing persistence.” Lisa M. Amos
  5. “If you are not willing to risk the usual, you will have to settle for the ordinary.”Jim Rohn
  6. “Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life–think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success.” Swami Vivekananda
  7. “Stop chasing the money and start chasing the passion.” Tony Hsieh
  8. “All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.” Walt Disney

Embrace the idea that failure leads to success

It is not if you will fail, but when.

85% of all businesses fail within the first five years.

That is not a reason to give up.

If you were able to stop internalizing failure as something personal would that shift your perspective?

Success in business is always a numbers game.

The more you can break it down into smaller chunks the more believable it is to you.

This is where having the success mindset comes into play.

If you need 20 sales to achieve your goal and 2 out of 10 buy from you then you need to talk to 100 people.

If you focused on your outcome instead of the ones who will reject you then you will have shift your mindset to your goal.

If you keep repeating to yourself that 8 say no and only two say yes then you will have lost sight of the concept that failure leads to success.

Every no brings you closer to another yes.

There is no business out there where 10 out of 10 buy all the time.

Nurturing your success mindset will allow you to reframe the way you look at things and keep going.

The psychology of success

One of the precursors to change is awareness.

The majority of people walk around every day doing things unconsciously.

87% of all daily actions are done on autopilot.

Most of what you do daily is subconscious driven.

You have to develop your level of conscious awareness in order to see what are your pattern of habits.

Every person’s behaviour has a pattern of habits.

The things that we see, here and do while growing up creates a series of patterns of behaviour, most of which becomes the story you have bought into about yourself.

Think of all the little things you do daily and don’t even think about it.

The same thing applies to being a successful entrepreneur.

Study successful people and understand what is their pattern of behaviour.

What do they think, how do they prioritize their time, what do they read, what do they listen to and who do they associate with?

The psychology of human behaviour is driven by patterns of habit.

Understand what your pattern of habits are and they replace the bad ones with good habits.

This will help you develop a success mindset because you need to become bigger than your problems.

A few great commitment quotes

1. “Unless commitment is made, there are only promises and hopes; but no plans.” ―Peter F. Drucker

2. “Freedom is not the absence of commitments, but the ability to choose — and commit myself to — what is best for me.” ―Paulo Coelho, The Zahir

3. “Commitment is an act, not a word.” ―Jean-Paul Sartre

You have to stick with it. Although failure is not something that instantly breeds success, it does alllow you to learn from where you went wrong and continue to educate yourself. Thanks for sharing.

  5. Powerful insight on how failure leads to success David. I know that mindset is key to success and even though we can have the most positive mindset and thoughts, it doesn’t mean we will do everything perfectly. Failure is part of the learning process to keep us on the journey towards our goals and dreams. Thanks for sharing your valuable advice.

    • Success is something we borrow 1 day at a time and failure helps us to learn so we can put of those days together consecutively. Failure like most, has been a great teacher to me.
