Is the power of thoughts an illusion or reality?

I guess one way to determine if there is any truth in that is to think about your own life.

What do you think about most?

What shows up in your life?

Is there a match?

The Law of Attraction makes a direct connection between the power of thoughts and what is showing up in your life.

Here is an interesting point.

Most people don’t know what they want.

This is true.

Ask most people, “What do you want?”

Most will tell you what they don’t want.

So what must show up in your life if power of thoughts is reality?

What you don’t want.

Scientific studies have shown that we have approximately 60,000 thoughts in a day.

The problem is that we have many of the same thoughts every day.

87% of what we see, read and listen to through various forms of media in a day are negative.

That is a powerful influence on your subconscious mind.

From the time that you were born every word, action and behaviour was recorded in your subconscious mind.

Science has determined that the mind’s capacity only gets used approximately 6-8% by average people and up to 12% in geniuses.

Do you realize how much untapped potential everyone has?

Take a look around the world and see all the incredible wonders that have been created my man.

That was all done with only a maximum of 12% potential being used.

Imagine what is possible!

The power of the subconscious mind to store all that data over your entire life is amazing.

The question is, how does all that data affect who you are and what you think?

With 87% exposure to negativity daily it is inevitable that you will be thinking negative thoughts a great deal of the time.

Every person has a pattern of habits that are formed by repeating an action over and over until it gets ingrained into your subconscious mind.

This is where the power of the subconscious mind shows up in your life.

Scientific studies have determined that 92% of everyone’s daily activity is on autopilot or in an unconscious state.

We do almost everything without even thinking about it.

How much of your life is a repetitive pattern?

Scary to think you are roaming around in an unconscious state most of the time.

Watch your habits, they become character.

Thoughts are things

This is a very profound statement.

You may or may not believe it but just for a moment hold it this way contextually.

If you take a look around to see all the things that we have in this world  it is amazing.

Before any of these things were created in the real world they were first imagined in the mind of man.

This is where the statement thoughts are things comes from.

Everything that was created was first imagined as a thought.

A vision or a picture with detailed clarity was taken from the mind and turned into a creation.

One of the common things that successful people have developed is to first imagine themselves as being successful.

The vision of your thoughts helps you to move forward towards that which you imagine.

If in fact thoughts are things, this means that anyone who holds the thought of their success in their mind will make them a success.

Not exactly.

If you examine closely any successful person the thought they created had to be backed up by an action.

If you create the vision of your success with clarity and back it up with action then it is inevitable that you will experience success.

Here is an experiment to do regarding the power of thoughts

I made reference earlier in this post about the vast majority of your day being conducted in an unconscious state.

Do the following experiment and you will be able to establish your pattern of behaviour.

Take your mobile phone and several times a day set a random time for the alarm to go off.

When your alarm goes off, record your thoughts, are they positive or negative?

How aware were you of everything that was going on?

What was your level of concentration?

Most people, (80% in U.S. ) are not passionate about what they do.

If you are not passionate about what you are doing how do you go through the day?

Most people are having the conversation that states, “I’ll be glad when this day is over.”

Thank God it’s Friday.

This means you only look forward to two days a week and sometime on Sunday you start to get anxious about going back to work.

Is this any way to live.

This experiment will make you aware of your thoughts and show you what state of mind you are in most of the day.

Awareness is the precursor to change.

It actually puts on display, the power of thoughts.

It basically is a challenge for you to go through 7 full days without thinking a negative thought of any kind.

Remember it was proven that most people live 92% of their day in an unconscious state.

This challenge means being 100% conscious of all your thoughts every day for 7 days.

Think about that for just a minute.

He states that if you do think a negative thought you have to instantly let it go from your mind.

It is only 7 pages and I challenge you to test yourself to see how far you can get.

Oh yeah, if you do think a negative thought and let it affect your thinking or actions then you have to start all over again.

The power of thought is a magnificent thing

A lot of people like to be in control of their life or at least they like to think they are.

The reality is that very few people are in control of their life.

This is one of the dangers of living life in an unconscious state.

You make decisions and choices without paying attention to the potential consequences of those decisions.

Usually bad choices and decisions lead to other mistakes and then you get out of sync and things can quickly spiral out of control.

The power of thought is based on you being aware.

Life creates so many distractions and most of these distractions are simply forms of escapism.

People all too willingly jump on the bandwagon of escapism to not have to face the responsibilities or consequences of their life.

You can run but you can’t hide because the power of thought follows you everywhere you go.

You can’t turn the mind off but you can quiet it down.

Meditation, Yoga and things like Tai Chi can have an incredible calming affect on the mind.

If you don’t take control of your thoughts, your thoughts will take control over you.

Its your choice.

Whether it be about success in life or success in business you need to own responsibility for what you think and how you think.

    • The key for me has been to learn to create my life consciously instead of unconsciously. We need to own who we are. Its not actually self improvement it is self discovery.

  7. Our Thoughts are powerful, Our Minds are an amazing garden where we plant our lives…and harvest what we focus on 🙂 Our thoughts create the joy or pain we experience. Just yesterday I was responding to a blogger who wrote a post taht the secret to the secret is HARD WORK….I was like aaarrrrrggg NO NO NO. Every one was uplauding her. NO It isnt. The secret to Success and the secret is Our Mind…Our Thoughts thats the Secret! What we focus on expands and becomes real in our lives somehow…and so if we focus the power of our thoughts on what we want and plan some action and take said action, hard work shouldnt be the focus of your actions, rather FOCUS, ENJOYMENT and GRATITUDE should come into play..unless hard work is your modus operandi…in which case you will work hard for your results!
