Sometimes You Win Sometimes You Learn

In business and in life sometimes you win sometimes you learn…

Do you react or respond when things don’t go your way?

Life happens to us all and you have to develop good coping mechanisms to work your way through the struggles that inevitably happen.

A coping mechanism can be exercise, praying, meditation, listening to music or taking walks in the park.

If you take a look at the title most people have adopted sometimes you win sometimes you learn to sometimes you win sometimes you lose.

I chose a long time ago to adopt the idea that whatever happens the worst case scenario is that I would learn.

Failing is simply finding out another way of not getting the desired outcome.

Thomas Edison was asked once how he felt about failing 10,000 times before he discovered the the right way to make the light bulb work.

His answer was simply, “I did not fail 10,000 times, I simply discovered 10,00 ways that the light bulb did not work.”

It’s about having the right perspective on things.

Leadership is about taking responsibility and influence

Most people highly underestimate their own power.

The interesting thing to note is that when two or more people get together and work in harmony they will be unstoppable.

Napoleon Hill wrote in his classic “Think and Grow Rich” about the enormous power of the mastermind.

Once you change your mind you can can do anything and this can powerfully influence others.

No one ever wins every battle but the main thing to remind yourself is keep on fighting.

You are guaranteed to lose if you give up or quit.

Leadership over self is about taking ownership of your actions and behaviours.

What if you learned just 1 thing from every person you met and from every battle you fought in life?

Sometimes you win sometimes you learn is a much more positive and effective attitude to adopt.

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” – Margaret Mead

It’s not what you get, it’s who you become…

Success in any area of life is a journey not a destination.

There is a time in everyone’s life where they go through what Dr. Wayne Dyer refers to as the warrior phase.

This is when you will be the most competitive.

You want to win or succeed at all costs.

What would be more important, collaboration or competition?

I have had a philosophy that has stuck with me my entire life.

I always believed that if you take 10 people and have them compete and fight to achieve their goals and objectives  and then compare them to 10 people who collectively work together in a state of harmony to achieve their goals.

You let this go on for a period of 10 years and then you compare the overall success in all areas of their life.

The 10 people who work in harmony would be head and shoulders above the individuals in all areas of their lives.

The first group of individuals would be competing on the sometimes you win sometimes you lose mentality.

The second group would be operating on sometimes you win sometimes you learn.

Cooperation is much more productive.

Personal growth needs to be intentional not optional

Everyone needs a personal development plan in place for their life.

As Tony Robbins puts it,”You are either growing or dying.”

Do you see personal growth as something important to implement in your life?

Are you taking action every day?

Dr. Wayne Dyer had a great quote that read, “If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”

This is definitely one of the best quotes that exemplifies “sometimes you win sometimes you learn.”

The best investment you can make is in yourself.

The ROI (return on investment) is infinite.

If you want to win the game of life you need to put a conscious effort every day into becoming the best version of yourself possible.

If you look at the context of winning a game, it is short lived, if you look at being successful in making lots of money, it is short lived.

If you focus on money and things you will be focused only on what makes you happy short term.

If you focus on providing value and making a difference in others lives then you will be on the right path of “sometimes you win sometimes you learn.”

Do you want to live a life of mediocrity or do you want to live life to the max?

Do you have a purpose?

Do you think we were just put here on this earth to live a mundane existence or to excel to your greatest capacity?

The interesting thing is that studies have been done and they indicate that we are only using 7-15% of our true potential.

That is exciting and scary at the same time.

What are you truly capable of?

If you take a look around the world you see some exceptionally amazing things.

Science, medicine and technology are expanding at warp speed.

Imagine if you made the conscious decision to apply yourself and see what is possible.

Imagine living your life by design instead of default.

Anything is possible!
